Headstone FAQs

We’re based in Sheffield and work across the whole city and surrounding South Yorkshire, including Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster and nearby Derbyshire villages. We regularly install memorials in Sheffield City Council cemeteries and local churchyards, and we’re always happy to advise if you’re unsure whether we cover your area.

You can contact us by phone, email or via our enquiry form to arrange a no-obligation chat. We’ll talk through your requirements, the cemetery or churchyard where the memorial will be placed, your preferred material, shape and inscription, and then provide a clear quote. If you’d like, we can also meet you in person at our workshop or in a convenient Sheffield location.

Timescales can vary depending on the material, design and cemetery permissions. As a general guide, from final approval of the design to installation, it can take several weeks to a few months. We’ll give you an estimated timescale at the start, keep you updated, and work around any specific dates that are important to your family, such as anniversaries.

Permission is usually required before a headstone or memorial can be installed. As part of our service, we can handle the paperwork and applications on your behalf, liaising with the relevant authority so you don’t have to worry about the formalities.

Yes. If there is space on an existing memorial, we can carefully match the lettering style and add additional inscriptions, for example when a second name needs to be added. We can also clean and refurbish the stone at the same time if required.

Yes, we offer a full cleaning, renovation and re-lettering service for existing memorials in Sheffield and the surrounding area. Whether it’s general weathering, leaning, faded lettering or damage, we can assess the memorial and advise on the best way to restore it safely and respectfully.
